Student Ministry

The Student Ministry of FBC La Vernia exists to equip students and families to be rooted in Christ by following Jesus, strengthening each other, serving our community, and giving away the good news that we have received.  Our mission is “Making Disciples who Make Disciples."

Then he said to them all: "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me." (Luke 9:23)

strengthening each other

All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. (Acts 2:44-45).

serving our community

"...whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." (Matthew 25:40)

giving it all away

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20).

Speaker: Steven Gaither and Allen Frans   Special Guests: Justin Flom and Tedashi

You won't want to miss Camp Zephyr 2019. Could this be a time when many students come to trust Jesus? Or maybe this experience draws your student closer to God than he has ever been. One thing is for sure. This will be an experience worth investing in. Who knows, your student just might receive the gift of salvation, be inspired to grow in his or her faith, or reconnect with the Lord in another special way. Camp Zephyr will take place from July 15-19, 2019 at Camp Zephyr in Sandia, Texas. The all-inclusive cost for your student to attend camp is $271. There are optional activities, merchandise, and snacks that are available at camp for an additional cost. These are not required for students to have a great time but are available at parental discretion.

In order to secure your student’s spot for Zephyr, please (1) complete your online registration form (CLICK HERE FOR REGISTRATION) and (2) pay your non-refundable deposit of $60 online.

If you prefer to pay with cash or check please see Cindy Appling to complete your registration.

Registration for Zephyr closes online on July 1. Full payments are due at that time. On June 17 a final invoice will be sent out reflecting your remaining balance due. If your student has participated in fundraisers, your final balance will reflect it.

Please note that spots for camp are limited and your student’s spot is only guaranteed when their $60 deposit is paid.
